FIRE
& SMOKE DAMAGE
|
When
restoration of fire damage occurs in a home or
office, no job is too big for American Restoration.
Our experienced staff will provide immediate response
to mitigate any further fire and smoke damage.
Our contractors primary objective when performing
restoration services after a fire and smoke loss
is to return the damaged property to its pre-loss
condition. Depending on the damage incurred, cleaning,
deodorization, or reconstruction could be required,
perhaps all three.
American Restoration can provide a pack-out of
all the fire and smoke damaged contents to our
warehouse for temporary storage and cleaning.
We provide contents inventory during the pack-out,
which will be invaluable in processing the insurance
claim. Photographs and videos of the damage are
part of the services we provide, and indeed, are
the best evidence in any insurance claim.
Our on-site emergency services coordinator will
provide security and salvage for your personal
belongings, board up windows, secure the premises,
and shut off water and power to avoid any further
damage to your home.

WATER
DAMAGE

|
Some
of the most common causes of residential water
leaks are stopped up sinks, sewage backups, broken
pipes, leaky roofs, malfunctioning appliances,
or natural disasters. Cold weather, flashfloods,
and tornadoes cause damage to homes at a rapid
pace, resulting in a rush against the clock. Water
leaks require preventative and corrective action
immediately.
The first step to mitigate damage is to determine
and contain the source of the water leak. If the
source of your water damage is from a plumbing
malfunction, you should first contact a plumber.
If you are experiencing a leaky roof, a malfunctioning
appliance, or a flood from any other water source,
call American Restoration immediately. The experienced
emergency service team at American Restoration
is available 24/7 to provide the attention a water
damage insurance claim demands. We are available
to provide you with emergency service as well
as complete restoration to your home. We will
work with you and your insurance company from
start to finish.
American Restoration's first priority is to represent
you, the homeowners, to correctly document your
insurance claim and professionally repair the
damage to your property.

WIND
DAMAGE

|
Wind
is one of the most powerful natural forces on
earth, sometimes carrying with it water and debris
that can be devastating. Wind can be unpredictable
and incredibly powerful. From the strong wind
gusts of a summer storm to the dusty spiral of
a tornado to the gale-force onslaught of a powerful
storm, wind takes many destructive forms.
If your property suffers wind damage, don't hesitate
to call American Restoration. Our roofing contractors
have extensive experience in handling all kinds
of wind damage. The most common are residential
roofing related issues, where either a tree has
collapsed on a structure, or the wind has pulled
up a section of (or all of) the roof and requires
immediate roof repair so you don't get a leaky
roof.
American Recstoration offers full restoration
for any type of wind damage. We work with businesses,
homeowners and insurance companies to bring about
pre-loss conditions quickly and efficiently.
A few tips for wind-proofing
your home:
1. Know your risk.
Contact your local Red Cross chapter for information
about hazards in your community.
2. Be sure you have
sufficient insurance. Talk to your agent about
insurance and wind damage coverage.
3. Check your roof
sheathing. "Sheathing" is the plywood
skin that covers the rafters in your roof. It
is comprised of multiple sheets of plywood that
are nailed to the rafters, providing both stability
and coverage. Take a look in your attic at the
rafters, and be sure the nails that hold the sheathing
to the rafters have not missed their mark. Talk
to American Restoration if your sheathing has
not been properly installed.
4. Be sure your end
gables are supported properly. "End gables"
are the trusses that are used for the walls at
the ends of your roof. There should be an "X"
support bracing system perpendicular to these
end wall gables.
5. Ice dams and water
shield may be necessary. If your area is prone
to high winds and lots of snow, make sure you
have Ice dams and water shield in place.
6. Double-entry doors
should be secured at the top and bottom by bolts.
If you have double doors, be sure your locking
hardware is capable of withstanding high winds.
7. Confirm garage
door security. A poorly-installed garage door
can cave in during high winds, exposing the interior
of your house to dangerous wind pressures.
8. Consider storm
shutters. It is advisable to use storm shutters
for exposed windows, glass surfaces, French doors,
sliding glass doors and skylights. Contact American
Restoration for more information.

MOLD
DAMAGE

|
Mold
damage can be difficult to detect at first, but over
time, if left untreated, mold can cause major damage
to both the integrity of the structure and potentially
to the health of the occupants.
Mold is caused by excessive humidity or moisture. It
can be caused quickly, for example, by water damage
from a burst pipe, or slowly over time by leaky roofs
or standing water under a house. Sometimes mold can
be caused simply by high humidity or warm, moist air
condensing on smooth, cool surfaces.
Mold remediation can be challenging, which is why American
Restoration is only a phone call away to give you a mold
inspection.
Whether your mold problems are on painted walls, ceiling
tiles, support rafters, or floor joists, it's important
to keep in mind that there may be more to the problem
than meets the eye.
American Restoration is a certified mold remediation specialist
with the expertise and equipment to deal with mold removal
problems quickly and thoroughly before the problem spreads.
Contact American
Restoration if you suspect a mold problem at your
home or office.
